Frinton Golf Club is part of England Golf’s Get into golf scheme and offers affordable coaching opportunities aimed at beginners in group sessions from £20 for four week courses.  When players are ready, they can join as 9-hole members on the established Kirby course at a discounted price for two years. This membership provides beginners and improvers with coaching and playing opportunities on the 9-hole course helping to transfer their newly found skills from the driving range into actual playing.

The club also has a thriving junior section with regular coaching opportunities for both members and non-members and a great selection of year-round playing and competition opportunities for the youngsters.

Club Chairman, Rob Morgan said “Here at Frinton Golf Club our aim is to offer our members and visitors of all abilities an exceptional golfing experience and a friendly welcome. Achieving the England Golf GolfMark shows that we are a club for all age groups and it recognises the hard work and huge strides we have made to develop golf in our area. GolfMark gives us the disciplines to continue to improve and attract new members and golfers and the club owes a huge debt to Peter Taggart, Roy Stevenson and Colin Marsh for getting us across the line first.”

Peter Taggart, Head PGA Professional said “I am delighted that Frinton Golf Club has been awarded the England Golf GolfMark award and this is thanks to a lot of hard work by members of the golf team, and club members Roy Stevenson and Colin Marsh. This is the beginning of a new initiative to move the club forward in terms of attracting new members and golfers and making golf accessible to more and more people throughout East Anglia.

The award was presented to Frinton Golf Club by Helen Tarttelin, Essex County Development Officer, who commented:

“I’m delighted that Frinton Golf Club has achieved the GolfMark award and that the club’s efforts to grow the game can now be nationally recognised. Frinton Golf Club has a great team of people all working together to make golf accessible to all. The club has a clear vision of where it wants to be and how it intends to get there. The club are very keen to engage with and understand their local community and offer opportunities for anyone to experience golf with a clear pathway to membership or further participation.”

The GolfMark award was developed by England Golf and also integrates Sport England’s Clubmark award - a national standard for quality sports clubs recognised across the country.
