National Initiatives

England Golf has created a variety of initiatives and resources for golf facilities to help develop Junior and Adult golf in England at club and county level. County Golf Partnerships actively promote these national schemes to support their affiliated golf clubs and to achieve the targets within their development plans. 

Below are a list of the main England Golf initiatives and resources;

GolfMark - A national accreditation scheme for affiliated golf clubs, incorporating Sport England's ClubMark Award. GolfMark has been designed to support all golf clubs, however big or small to achieve distinct operating standards.

RangeMark - A national accreditation scheme to support independent driving ranges to promote their facilities and improve their policies and procedures.

Golf Club Membership Questionnaire - The Questionnaire is distributed every two years to all affiliated golf clubs and the survey aims to monitor membership trends and highlight the impact of current initiatives. The 2014 Results Booklet can be downloaded from the England Golf website.

Junior Organisers' Handbook - A comprehensive guide supporting those working with juniors within the club environment. The Handbook can be purchased from the England Golf online shop, or downloaded from the England Golf website.

Get into golf - A national campaign to inspire people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to take up the game. Low cost or free taster and golf coaching sessions are run accross the country.

Recruitment & Retention Toolkit - A flexible guidance document for golf clubs containing generic ideas and best practice examples. The Toolkit can be purchased from the England Golf online shop.

Golf Foundation - The Golf Foundations HSBC Golf Roots initiative is based on the ‘Skills for Life’ concept which promotes the idea that children and young people are able to develop not only playing skills, but also personal skills (such as honesty and respect) through the Foundation’s initiatives (including Tri-Golf and Golf Xtreme).

Golf Volunteers - Providing support and opportunities to get more people volunteering within golf clubs, County Golf Partnership or at a major golfing events.

Safeguarding Children in Golf - A partnership of governing bodies & organisations of golf in the UK & Ireland committed to ensuring that children & young people involved in golf can thrive & flourish in a safe environment.

Rules of Golf Quiz - Test your knowledge with the R&A's interactive rules of golf quiz. Rules & Etiquette pocket guides can also be purchased from the England Golf online shop.
