PGA Pros Jack Cole and Matt Mahoney got our new student programme underway at Chelmsford College. Squeezing in taster sessions to 100 students with learning disabilities just before the end of term. Participants will be encouraged to sign up to 6 weeks of coaching next term at Little Channels GC.

On a bright and windy June afternoon, people with disabilities headed to Benfleet for the Lions Clubs of South East Essex, Mid-Summer Sports Day. Golf was one of 10+ sports available. Steve Jackson from Garon Park, provided tuition to over 40 people, and everyone that attended will be invited to attend further coaching at Garon Park later in the summer

Playgolf Colchester ventured to the edge of Africa last week. Participating in the 50th Anniversary of Colchester Zoo, Playgolf were offering golf to the estimated 7,000 daily visitors during the school half-term. The club is undergoing major expansion of its facilities and prides itself on it's real family golf, sports and leisure offering.

Scott Rusbridge, Coastal Golf Academy scooped the Sinclair Award, as PGA Professional of the Year.

The first Essex Golf Week will tee off in April to inspire more people to start playing the game.

‘fusion x’: Sports work together to get more young people active.

Team GB hockey star and London 2012 bronze medallist, Hannah Macleod, [Friday 15 March] joined 23 young people at Bishop Challoner Catholic College in Birmingham for the first session of a pioneering multi-sport project, ‘fusion x’, which aims at getting more young people playing sport.

As part of their 'Get Involved' series, Sky Sports News will be broadcasting a short programme, filmed this week at Garon Park Golf Complex. The programme will be aired on Saturday 6th April around quarter to every hour from 7.45am.
